Week 2 Reading Overview

 After reading through both of the versions that are available for Ramayana, I have chosen to read OPTION TWO. Public Domain Edition: Ramayana. I chose this option because there is a free version I can read online, various styles and authors, lots of illustrations, lots of notes and links. I think this version will be a push for me since it is more of an older style of writing. I also think I will enjoy this option because I can listen to it as well. After looking through the comic book options, I am interested in "Stories of Courage" and "Shiva Parvati." I chose the "Stories of Courage" not only because I liked seeing the tiger on the front cover, but also because I think the story will provide a wise life lesson. I chose "Shiva Parvati" because I love reading about love stories, which this is the perfect comic book for me. The videos I have chosen are Sacred Trees and Underwater Cities. I simply chose both of these videos because they sounded interesting to me and I do not normally watch videos about these subjects. 

I chose this image because I thought it was beautiful and very interesting to look at. I have never seen an image life this.

 Hello, my name is Kylie Markham and I am from Highlands Ranch, Colorado. I am a senior this fall at OU. I also have a younger sister, Lindsey, who is a freshman at OU as well. I am an Advertising major with a minor in Enterprise Studies. I have two younger sisters. I was a member of the OU spirit team my Sophomore and Junior year. I love going to the beach with my family. We always go on a spring break trip together, it has been a family tradition since I was a little girl. I love to hangout with my friends and family, workout, go on walks, and to cook. I also enjoy skiing and swimming at the beach. My favorite type of music is country, but I also love pop, rock, and hiphop. I chose to attend OU because I knew I wanted to attend a traditional university with a strong alumni presence and a large greek system.

Week 7 Story: The Miraculous Mirror

Once upon a time, there was a sun goddess, whom was high of the heavens named  Amaterasu. She was known to sit in the middle of the night weaving a web of Doom. In which, this web of Doom was so big and symbolized the characteristics of joy and dismay. Amaterasu's weaving lead to Izanagi's daughter showing up. She was known for her Lotus-pure blossoms of Love with the flame of a rapturous star. She began to spin and interweave colors that represented important things to her, like life or war.  Thunder and lightening began falling from the sky. The angels were bowling. The Hall of the Gods were sending a message from heaven.  Suddenly, the demon of fire appeared in the mist of the ran. He was called, the Dragon of Hell. Amaterasu was frightened, she left her spinning and weaving. She raged at her brother in fear.  People prayed for a sign of heaven. They knew they needed more good in this world than the devil showing itself through fire and wind. They prayed for the Sun-Goddess
