Reading Notes: Week 2 Anthology

After reading all of the stories, my personal story was "Fairy Tales" not only because those type of stories were my childhood favorite, but because it was about a mom and three daughters. However, this story was a bit more scary than a typical fairy tale because Mary cut off the Basilisk's head. At first I was a bit scared when I was reading more of the story, but overall I thought it was very unique and different than any other fairy tale I have ever read. I think that is what made me like this fairy tale because it was so different. I also enjoyed reading the "Tricksters" story because I took Choctaw the last three semesters and we read it during my second semester of Choctaw. It was refreshing and nice to read a familiar story, especially an Indian Fairy tale. Both of these stories are very different and I believe it is good to exposed to fairy tales from different cultures.
